Windsor Netball Club welcomed England player Susie Liverseidge to its annual awards ceremony held at Windsor Girls School.

Susie presented all the medals and prizes. She is an ex Windsor Netball Club Player, now playing for England U19's this summer in Australia & NZ having previously played for U17's earlier this year. Susie’s mum Paula was the club’s first chairman and set up Windsor Netball Club along with Brenda Pope and Claire Roe.

The club was set up in 2013 and now boasts 126 junior members, 20 adult members and seven squads from U10/11 to U18. The squads train every Friday and play in the Berkshire, Maidenhead and Charters leagues during the week.

This year saw the U14’s win division 2 of the Berkshire League, the U16/17’s win division 4 of the Charters winter league and the under 18’s were runners up in division 3 having won division 4 last year. The adult team won the Maidenhead Premier League for the fourth consecutive time and were also runners up in the Berkshire Premier division 2.

The awards evening saw players from each squad picking up awards. Izzi Bird won the overall club Player of the Year, while Bella Pettipher won Volunteer of the Year Award.

Head coach Brenda Pope said: “Windsor Netball Club has really grown in the last twelve months, it’s a great place to exercise, socialise and develop resilience, all key factors for our mental health and wellbeing. We're all really excited about the Netball World Cup this summer and invite anyone interested to hear more about our local club to get inspired by joining us to watch the World Cup Final at Windsor Rugby Club in Home Park, Windsor on July 21."
