High Wycombe waste carrier found guilty of fly-tipping in Iver

Martin Christopher McDonagh, 47, was found to have dumped a large pile of mixed building waste at the side of a small access road off Seven Hills Road, which was found by a resident.

The waste was tracked back to an address in Hatton Garden, in central London.

Investigating officers went to the address and whilst they were there McDonagh turned up intending to collect another load of rubbish.

He gave false details to the officer after being confronted and fled the scene.

But he was identified by the investigating officer after he had encountered him in connection with a previous case.

Interviewed later at High Wycombe police station, McDonagh refused to cooperate with investigators.

But when the case went to court, he made an early guilty plea for which the magistrates gave him credit.

He was ordered to pay £2,046.16 in costs and was also ordered to complete 60 hours unpaid work and participate in a 'thinking skills' programme.

Buckinghamshire County Council Cabinet Member for Planning & Environment Bill Chapple OBE said: "Yet again one of our fly tipping prosecutions centres on builders' waste generated in London finding its way onto the country lanes of Buckinghamshire.

"Thanks to the diligence of our officer, the connection was made in this case that allowed us to successfully prosecute the criminal carrier."
