Match Point at Eden

Black Comedy and a Little bit of Lehrer

Fundraising evening for BMOS with a mixture of a one act play and the mastery of Tom Lehrer. Black Comedy by Peter Shaffer. Brindsley and his debutante Carol have borrowed some expensive, antique furniture from his neighbour Harold’s flat without his permission in order to impress an elderly millionaire art collector coming to view Brindsley’s work. When the power fails, Harold returns early, and Brindsley’s ex-mistress Clea shows up unexpectedly, things slide into disaster for him. Tom Lehrer. Murder Mystery Evening

The play (presented in the form of a radio play) takes place in the winter of 1947. Sir Brian Burrows, owner of Stocksley Manor, is a self-made millionaire married to Lady Sylvia, formerly a famous actress. Lord Guy Stocksley fell on hard times and had to sell the family home, but still rents a worker’s cottage on the estate. Sir Brian enjoys flaunting his wealth and his success in business. Each character we meet has a reason to detest him - and he meets his end in a violent fashion. But who did the deed? All will be revealed after the long interval for your picnic supper and a murder-related quiz. Bring your own drinks as there is no bar. Tickets £10.

Princes Risborough Town Festival Saturday

The High Street will be playing host to live music and performances on the main stage. Other attractions include, a man-made beach, BMX shows and free workshops by three times Guinness World Record holder and professional BMX flatland champion Matti Hemmings. There’s also a 65ft inflatable assault course, a silent disco, a food court with local street food vendors and cookery demos, a makeup masterclass by celebrity makeup artist Lyndsey Harrison, plus over 40 stalls that line the high street.

Hamilton Academy Summer Fair 2019

This year’s fun festival is expected to be the best one yet – there will be zorbing, bungee trampoline, giant inflatable slide and obstacle course, games, stalls, barbecue, cake stall, Pimm’s and beer tent, live music and dance shows and more.
