Keen bakers in Gerrards Cross have been invited to produce stunning baked goods to be judged by one of the countries most famous cooks – Mary Berry.

The beloved former judge of the Great British Bake Off will be judging a baking competition at Buckingham House Care Home on July 19 in aid of Rennie Grove Hospice Care.

Buckingham House’s new Chiltern Suite will also officially be unveiled on the day.

The theme for the competition is ‘the garden’ with all cakes entered in the competition being sold following the prize giving ceremony. There will also be a raffle with refreshments for all.

Local schoolchildren in the community have also competed in the drawing competition. They have been tasked with designing the top of a cake again in the theme of gardens. Care home residents will be choosing a winner from each school on the day.

Entry to the competition is just £3 – and you have until July 16th to register your interest. If you would like to compete email Jo Swerling on jo.swerling@mmcg.co.uk.
