A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Slough on suspicion of murder after two people were found stabbed in London.
Emergency services were called to a property in Redfern Avenue, Whitton, just after 9.40am today (Friday, July 12), where they found a man in his 60s and a women in her 70s stabbed to death inside the property.
Police said post-mortem examinations will be held in due course and formal identification is taking place – however officers believe they know the identity of the two victims and their family are being supported by family liaison officers.
Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating, and a crime scene remains in place.
The 31-year-old man was arrested in Slough at 3pm today (Friday).
Chief Superintendent Sally Benatar, who leads the Metropolitan Police’s South West Command Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the two victims.
“I want to reassure members of the community that this was an isolated incident. Having arrested a man this afternoon, we are not looking for anybody else in connection with the two deaths.
“I would like to express my thanks to emergency services colleagues, including Thames Valley Police who have supported our response to this incident.”
