The first Windsor Memory Walk in aid of the Alzheimers Society takes place on Saturday starting and finishing at the Event Lawn, next to the Long Walk - site entry through the car park off the A322 Sheet Street Road.

Those taking part can enjoy a leisurely stroll of 3.5km around the Great Park, suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

The longer 8km walk is more undulating through stunning countryside and both walks start and finish with an uphill slope to the top of the Long Walk, before heading along pathways through parkland and ancient woodland.

Memory Walk is the Alzheimer’s Society’s flagship fundraising event, where thousands of walkers unite against dementia at sponsored walks across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The money raised helps to fund the charity's services, as well as research and campaigning work. Registration at Windsor starts from 9.30am, setting off at 11am. It costs £10 to take part - call 0300 330 5452 or visit  MemoryWalk.org.uk
