A planning application has now been submitted to Oxford City Council, requesting permission for excavation works for network cables.

It states: "Oxford University is subleasing Trajan House for two university departments plus a third subsidiary.

"The departments need to be connected to the Oxford University IT network cable."

The Bellerbys campus in Oxford closed in August 2017, and was part of the Study Group International group.

During the controversial debate over where the new Swan School should be built, some parents suggested Bellerbys would have been a good option, but it was ruled out for being too small and unsuitable for a large school.

It taught hundreds of international students, who were invited to move to a sister college in Brighton to continue their studies when it closed.

The planning application states: "Bellerby's School [was] an independent school for boys and girls aged from 14 to 19. Bellerbys College Oxford specialised in Art, humanities and law.

"Trajan House is currently unused. It is currently lying dormant except for some furnishings and educational equipment. It currently has a visit from a Maintenance provider once a week."
