A guided wheelchair friendly walk round the Great Park and Windsor's heritage buildings will raise money for Children in Need.

The route is designed to be as accessible as possible to help all walkers and people with mobility challenges explore Windsor’s significant sights. Starting from the Castle, the Walkway takes in Windsor Great Park, heritage buildings including the Guildhall and Theatre Royal, historic streets in the town centre, its many royal memorials and views of Eton College from the banks of the River Thames.

The Outdoor Guide (TOG) and Cotswold Outdoor have joined forces to put on the walk along the Queen’s Walkway route in Windsor, starting from the Henry VIII Gate at Windsor Castle at 11am on Saturday, October 5.

The event will be led by AccessTOG director Debbie North.

She said: “I’ll be at the front of the queue for a Pudsey Ramble hat at the Cotswold Outdoor shop – BBC Children in Need is such a great cause, and yellow has always been my favourite colour!”

Julia Bradbury, co-founder of TOG with her sister Gina, says: “I’m absolutely thrilled that TOG and Cotswold Outdoor are teaming up to create an accessible ramble around Windsor in aid of BBC Children in Need. This is a fabulous opportunity to explore one of Britain’s most magical towns and experience Windsor’s uniquely royal atmosphere, while supporting a hugely valuable charity.”
