A STRING of burglaries in one neighbourhood has prompted a warning from police for residents to stay alert.
Homes and sheds in Whitley have been targeted by burglars over the past week, according to Thames Valley Police.
The force said on October 23 thieves broke into a home in Northumberland Avenue at around 14.15pm.

Officers said another burglary took place in Drake Way between 7.40am and 7.48am on October 23 where a burglar stole a bike from a bike shed.
A similar incident happened between the early hours of Tuesday October 22 and Wednesday October 23 in Bedwyn Mews as another bicycle was stolen from a shed.
Thames Valley Police are urging people to come forward if they saw anything, or if they have CCTV in the area. Police did not say whether the force suspects the incidents to be related.
