POLICE are hunting for suspects after a stabbing was carried out in a mass brawl in Reading last night (October 29).

The stabbing happened in Connaught Road and three people, believed to be male, were seen running towards Prince of Wales Avenue.  

Two men in their 30s are currently in hospital after suffering stab wounds in the fight.

One of the men has serious, but not life-threatening injuries and the second man has minor injuries.

No arrests have been made.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Marc Skinner, of Force CID based at Reading police station, said: "I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident, or believe they have any information that can assist our investigation, to contact police.

"I'm particularly keen to hear from anybody who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage of the altercation.

"One of the men seen running away was possibly injured. We would like this person, or anyone who knows this person, to come forward so that we can ensure they are safe and well.

"This person may also be able to assist our investigation."

"Anyone with any information can call the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting URN 1154 (29/10).

"Alternatively, you can make a report online or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

"This incident occurred in the early evening, and I believe that there will have been a number of witnesses to the assaults.

"I appreciate the concern that incidents such as these will cause in the local community, but I would re-assure the public that we are investigating the circumstances thoroughly and you will see an increased police presence in the area while these investigations continue.

"Should you have any concerns you wish to raise, don't hesitate to speak to one of our officers."
