Police say the man, a 77-year-old from Bicester, suffered 'life-threatening injuries' in the collision yesterday morning.
Passers-by rushed to his side and gave first aid before emergency services arrived.
It happened just after 9am at the Kingsmere roundabout in Bicester, where Middleton Stoney Road meets Shakespeare Drive.
A black Peugeot 208 car hit the cyclist's blue mountain bike, and the rider was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
