ARMED robbers made off with a Boss watch and an iPhone after threatening a man with a knife close to the town centre.

The 19-year-old victim was approached by three men and one woman on Cambria Bridge Road at around 2pm on December 11.

One demanded to know the victim’s name while another swung a punch at him.

Police said the victim attempted to protect himself by curling up on the floor. The group then kicked him several times before one of the men threatened him with a knife.

The group made off with the victim’s gold Boss watch – worth approximately £230 – as well as a red iPhone 11 and a grey Oakley backpack.

Police later located the bag and phone in Cambria Bridge Park, but with significant damage.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He has been interview by police and released on conditional bail.
