Slough's Keralite community (also known as Malayali ) welcomed in the New Year at Churchmead School in Datchet.

The Keralites, settled in different parts of UK, hail from the Indian state of Kerala, which occupies its southwestern Malabar coast and was created in 1956. They are identified as native speakers of the Malayalam language.

The celebration at Churchmead was jointly organized by the Association of Slough Malayalees (ASM) and Slough Malayali Association (SMA) on Saturday, January 11.

A number of Indian traditional dance forms such as Kathak and Bharathanaatym, cinematic dance numbers, a gymastic show, karaoke, a comedy skit and Dubsmash were the main attractions of the evening.

The audience of well above three hundred people were welcomed to the show by entertainment secretary Mathew Dominic, Association Presidents Doctor Hareesh Menon and Mathew Thoppil and General Secratery Jomon Kunnel.
