A challenging half marathon, a harvest celebration and a Christmas carol service all went towards raising £3,745 for the charity Phab Kids.

It all started at Eton End School in Eton Road, Datchet.

Headteacher Sophie Banks and some of her team pushed themselves out of their comfort zone and participated in their first ever half marathon, raising sponsorship for Phab Kids.

It was part of an ambitious school project that included mufti day for children, a collection at the school's harvest festival celebration, Christmas performances and a carol service.

Phab Kids has been going since 1957. For over 60 years the charity has inspired and supported disabled and non-disabled children, young people and adults to get together and enjoy the same activities and challenges side by side.

Janine Williams, challenge events manager from Phab came to join the school for a special assembly at which the money was handed over.
