‘Non-essential’ council meetings have been cancelled following government advice on the coronavirus outbreak.
Slough Borough Council has taken the decision to cancel upcoming meetings to try and reduce the risk of spreading the dreaded COVID-19 virus.

A spokesperson from the council said: “Most non-essential meetings will be, or already have been, cancelled and these include scrutiny panels and the Slough Wellbeing Board.
“No decisions have been made about cabinet and planning committee or full council in April.
“We are awaiting advice from the government on whether they will allow remote meetings to make formal decisions.”

The council’s neighbouring authority, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, took the decision to cancel all non-essential meetings, apart from cabinet and private meetings, last week after an extraordinary meeting last Wednesday.
