FOOD banks within the Royal Borough will receive a cash boost from the council to support the community during the coronavirus pandemic

The leader of the council, councillor Andrew Johnson (Conservative: Hurley and Walthams) announced on Tuesday, March 24, that the Maidenhead Foodshare and Windsor Foodshare will receive £5,000 each to help the most vulnerable who are struggling to get food.

He also pledged that self-help groups within the Royal Borough will receive £500 each from the council to support their work during this unprecedented time

Councillor Andrew Johnson said: “It’s important we all work together over the next few weeks and look after each other.

“With that in mind, we are awarding £500 per group to community self-help groups and grants to the two foodbanks to support their work (£5,000 each) through this difficult time. Keep safe stay home.”
