An amazing African adventure gave pupils at Claires Court Junior School, Maidenhead an experience to remember before the CORVID-19 lockdown brought term to a premature close.

The school in College Avenue transformed into the pride lands of Africa for a production of The Lion King featuring pupils.

Buoyed on by a message of support from cast members of London’s West End production of The Lion King, pupils gave their all to such famous songs as The Circle of Life, I Just Can't Wait to Be King and Hakuna Mata - while acting out the tale of the young lion cub Simba in a fantastic assortment of costumes and props which brought the story to life.

Lindsay King, acting head of Junior Girls, said: “While having a wonderful time working towards their breath-taking performances, the girls have developed their confidence and resilience through taking risks, stepping out of their comfort zone and working together creatively. All important life skills that I hope they take with them through school, work and life, along with happy memories of an unforgettable experience.”

Claires Court is an independent day school for boys and girls aged three to 18 year olds.
