The first batch of 300 protective gowns have been received by the trust that runs Slough's Wexham Park and Ascot's Heatherwood hospitals.

The Ebola proof gowns have been produced at the EIZO workshop in Ascot which opened on Wednesday with a team of professional sewers. The aim is to have more sewers on site soon and to produce 500 gowns each day to serve Wexham Park, Heatherwood and Frimley Park hospitals.

Anthony Kerslake Head of Fundraising for Frimley Health Charity said: “The charity is thrilled to be working with both the hospital procurement team and the team at EIZO, and are amazed at how the community of local seamstresses have rallied around to each create over 50 PPE Gowns a day. We are incredibly humbled by both team spirits and their professionalism. Thank you.”
