The latest government figures have shown that a total of 30,076 patients have now died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK.

The government has also announced that in the previous 24 hours, there were 6,111 new cases and 649 deaths.

In Slough, there are now a total of 419 confirmed cases and in Windsor and Maidenhead there are a total of 264 confirmed cases.

This comes after it was revealed that Windsor and Maidenhead has one of the South East's highest coronavirus death rates.

Office for National Statistics data shows there were 61 deaths involving Covid-19 in Windsor and Maidenhead between the beginning of March and April 17 – a rate of 38.8 per 100,000 of the local population.

In Buckinghamshire, there are a total of 864 confirmed cases of Covid-19. Further afield, in Oxfordshire there are 1,633 and in Hertfordshire there are 2,434.
