A burglar who broke into a Slough business and a house has been jailed for more than two years.

Mark Thompson, 55, forced his way into a business on Banbury Avenue and stole a string of items on February 9 at around 3pm.

Then, on February 12, he broke into a house in Elmshott Lane - again stealing items.

Thompson, of Park Street, was sentenced to two years and seven months in jail at a hearing on April 28 at Reading Crown Court.

He had earlier pleaded guilty to one count of burglary non-dwelling and one count of burglary dwelling on March 30.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Helena Moore, based at Slough police station said, “I am pleased that Thompson received a custodial sentence for his actions.

“Thames Valley Police does not tolerate this behaviour and works hard to bring offenders to justice.

“Burglary is an intrusive crime and victims should have the right to feel safe in their own property.
