The latest government figures have shown that a total of 33,186 patients have died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK, as of 5pm on Wednesday.

The government has also announced that in the previous 24 hours, there were 3,242 new cases and 494 deaths.

Here are the latest figures locally.

In Slough, there are now a total of 436 confirmed cases and in Windsor and Maidenhead there are 275 confirmed cases.

This comes after Covid-19 claimed the life of a much loved taxi driver and member of the Sikh community - leaving his family, friends and work colleagues devastated.
