MasterChef competitor Jasmeet Dial has joined the volunteers in Slough who are helping support those most affected by the Coronavirus crisis.
The father of two triumphed for two weeks on the television show, making it into the semi-finals as he and his fellow contestants undertook such thrilling challenges as cooking for 120 sailors and officers on board the destroyer HMS Diamond in Portsmouth for their Trafalgar day dinner.
By the time he was eliminated he had made it as one of the 'magnificent seven' whittled down from the original 60 contestants.
Now, after baking for the navy on HMS Diamond he is back in the kitchen of his home in Langley helping make food for Slough Outreach to deliver to people in need during the current crisis.
During his first week helping he filled 40 boxes with vegetable rice and chicken tikka meals - which will help Slough Outreach meet its target of over 100 meals a day.
Outreach was set up to help the homeless but has extended its brief since the lockdown started.
Jasmeet, who is a senior graphic designer at Synergy Vision was on his own when he had to please the judges on MasterChef. But this time his wife Kamaldeep and daughters Pryana and Jasryn have been on hand to help.
He hopes to continue helping Slough Outreach, saying: "We will see what is needed and take it from there."
