Two new bridges have been installed over the M4 this weekend.
The busy motorway - between junctions 6 and 8/9 near Slough and Maidenhead - was shut over the weekend while huge steel beams were lifted into place.
The M4 was scheduled to be shut until 6am this morning (Monday) but work was finished early - with Highways England teams managing to install the two new bridges in just over 24 hours.
It fully reopened at around 6pm on Sunday, May 17.
The weekend saw the installation of bridge decks for two new structures on the M4: Huntercombe Spur bridge at Junction 7 and Ascot Road bridge near Junctions 8/9.
Both will replace the original bridges built in the early 1960s and will open later this year.
The work is part of a project to upgrade the M4 between junctions 3 and 12 to a smart motorway.
