As such, the future of the site hangs in the balance as it has struggled to survive since it closed on March 20 under the coronavirus lockdown.

Hundreds of Bracknell Bees fans have reacted to the news as the ice hockey team also faces a risk due to the ice rink maybe being closed for good.

Residents who have used the leisure complex for birthday parties, ice skating or even skiing have shared their reactions to the news.

Here's what readers had to say on the announcement:

Patrick Cooper: " Hope they are kept to an absolute minimum."

Karen Gathergood: "It's a shame but the ones I feel really sorry for are all their young staff who are on zero hour contracts and haven't been paid a penny since the lockdown.

"They all worked very hard for the company and have been treated during this lockdown like rubbish."

Jason Coles: "Hopefully things will work out for all involved. Know first hand how devastating to a community loosing a rink can be."

Gary Skeggs: "2020 has just got a whole lot worse I just hope it does not mean the closure of the rink and staff losing there jobs."

Kaylz Goddard: "I really hope the ice rink can be saved - many memories there as a child watching the bees and was hoping to bring my three this year to make memories with them too!"

Andrew Barrett: "Awful news, hopefully the team don't fold. As a Vipers fan I know how it feels."
