A RACE-RELATED assault a Reading shop has caused police to reveal CCTV images as a part of an appeal. 

Around 10.40am on Saturday, March 28, a 30 year old man was assaulted in a Co-Operative store on South View Avenue, Caversham, and was verbally abused with racist language.

The victim sustained a cut to the lip from the attack, however did not require hospital treatment.

Following this assault, Thames Valley Police have since revealed a CCTV still image of a man they would like to speak to.

Investigating, PC Holly Chamberlain, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who has information that could assist with this investigation to get in touch.

“I believe the man in this CCTV may have vital information that could help with this investigation.

“If you recognise this man or believe it could be you, please come forward.
