A YEAR 10 pupil is inspiring her fellow students to do their bit in caring for the environment.
Hannah Needs, from Padgate Academy, was upset with the amount of littering in Warrington, and decided to take matters into her own hands.
"I have recently got back from doing some litter picking on my own around my area in Cinnamon Brow and Peel Hall Park, as well as working my way up to Padgate," Hannah explained.
"I’ve missed doing it on the beach in North Wales, where I visit a lot protecting the sea, but I’ve had enough of seeing litter when I take my dog for a walk.
"It’s really bad for the environment, so I encourage people to put it where it belongs in the bin or take it home with you and not to be lazy, as I wish to inspire more people to be like me.
"I picked up around three bin bags of litter this weekend.
"If you wish to make a change, start now by picking up litter or not dropping anything, even if it is one can, it will make a difference at the end of the day.
"We’re all in this together and I believe we can save this planet."
A spokesperson at Padgate Academy added: "Hannah in year 10 is an excellent role model to her Padgate peers.
"Giving up her time to do a local litter pick is such a commendable act of kindness for the community.
"As Hannah states, ensuring we all play a part in keeping our environment litter free is an easy way to make a huge impact to our environment."
