A WOMAN has admitted 'taping up' and damaging a CCTV system worth hundreds of pounds at her ex-partner's mother's house.

Jessica Faulkner took the extraordinary measure because the Thame woman didn't approve of the relationship with her son, who also lived there.

The 29-year-old of Griffin Lane, Aylesbury, appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court yesterday.

She pleaded guilty at that hearing to one count of breaching a bail condition and one count of causing criminal damage.

Outlining the case prosecutor Alex Alawode said the criminal damage took place on March 25 at an address in Thame.

Faulkner went to the home shared by her ex-partner and his mother and was spotted on CCTV.

That footage showed her walking around the home and 'taping up' areas that were being monitored.

She also covered the door bell screen and caused total damage to the system valued at £619.

The police were called and she was released on bail, but later breached this after she was seen near the house inside a car on June 23.

In mitigation her defence team said that Faulkner had been pregnant at the time and had been 'very emotional.'

The court heard that Faulkner taped up the CCTV so that her partner's mother - who didn't approve of the relationship - would not know it was her ringing the bell

Presiding Judge Peter Ross agreed to adjourn sentencing while a pre-sentence report is prepared.

That report by the National Probation Service will explore all sentencing options.

The case was adjourned until July 22 and the sentencing will take place at the same court. Faulkner was released on bail in the meantime.
