PLANS to build a new £6m training centre for Swindon Town FC in Highworth will be discussed at tonight’s council meeting.
Councillors have previously been opposed to the development which would be built on the site of the former Twelve Oaks Golf Club.
The proposed football training ground is just one part of a massive complex on the site, bought by Town chairman Lee Power in 2015, that includes a racehorse training centre and a residential estate.
Before this is considered, councillors will discuss plans to renovate derelict farmworkers’ cottages and change agricultural buildings at Eastrop Farm into five houses with parking facilities.
The Highworth Town Council planning committee meeting will be held over Zoom from 7pm. Members of the public can watch but not join in. The link is on the agenda at highworthtowncouncil.gov.uk
