The Government agency responsible for investigating workplace safety has started an investigation into yesterday's roof collapse in Windsor that has left a man with serious head injuries.
The incident happened at a house in Springfield Road, Windsor yesterday morning.
Firefighters from Berkshire, Bucks and London spent hours freeing two men trapped under the rubble.
One of the trapped men had sustained serious injuries and has been taken to the major trauma unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
The second trapped man sustained less serious injuries and has been taken to Wexham Park Hospital for further treatment. Three other patients were assessed and treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Today a spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive - the Government agency responsible for the regulation and enforcement of safety measures in the work place - confirmed that it had been present among the teams of firefighters, ambulance paramedics and police on the scene.
The agency investigates industrial accidents large and small.
A spokesman said: “HSE attended the scene and are investigating the incident.”
