A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a man who failed to appear at court to answer two burglary charges, one at a residential sheltered accommodation complex.

Stephen Dunn is alleged to have broken into Schooner Court, in Maritime Avenue, Hartlepool, in the early hours Wednesday August 28, 2019.

The defendant is also facing other charges of burglary and theft, relating to a break-in at a house in Milton Lane, Easington Colliery, from where car keys were taken before a Vauxhall Corsa a wallet, bank card and £80 were taken, on May 22.

The charges were to be put to him at Durham Crown Court, but he failed to appear for the hearing.

Judge Ray Singh, therefore, issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the 39-year-old defendant, of Harcourt Street, Hartlepool.
