A FORMER Barrow care home worker charged with sexually assaulting a resident is due to appear in court next week.
Dylan Birkett was charged with four offences, including sexual touching and inciting a person to engage in sexual activity.
The 20-year-old is alleged to have committed the offences at St Georges Nursing Home in Barrow towards the end of last year.
He will appear at South Cumbria Magistrates Court on Monday.
Mr Birkett, of Marsh Street in Barrow, had been removed from his job since the allegations came to light, his bosses said at the time.
The defendant has been charged with: one count of a care worker engaging in sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder; one count of a carer ill-treating/wilfully neglecting a person without capacity; one count of a care worker causing/inciting sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder and one count of assault by beating
