The community has cast its vote - and the cafe which will be based at the Royal Borough's new hospice when it opens in October has been given a name.

Last month supporters of Windsor's Thames Hospice in Hatch Lane were invited on Facebook to choose a name for the cafe which will grace the hospice's new home. They chose their favourite from a shortlist of three picked by hospice staff and volunteers.

It will be known as Cafe by the Lake and will be open to the public and visitors to the new hospice building when it opens by Bray Lake.

The new cafe will serve cakes, coffee and lunches from its home in the reception area. Customers can sit inside or outside on the terrace and enjoy views of the lake.

Café by the Lake will be open every day of the week from 8am to 7pm.
