Developers McCarthy and Stone built the retirement departments in Beaconsfield Road near the library.
Its customer sales consultants Jackie Spencer-Cavell and Jackie Chicken handed over a cheque for £500, which will be used to boost the library’s resources and improve its services.
As well as books the library also offers a wide programme of events, outings, charitable coffee mornings and regular children’s arts and crafts sessions. It provides IT support for members and has a thriving book group.

Michael Mills, chairman at Farnham Common Community Library, said: “While the library is already a hub for community life, we are continually looking for ways to add to our resources and to make our facilities even more welcoming for the people of Farnham Common. Gestures such as this really do help to boost our funds and make a difference.”
