A street sign was pushed over and thrown down further along the road - and now police are on the trail of the vandals that did it.
They have released images of two men believed to be connected.
It happened on Saturday, August 8 in Welbeck Road, Maidenhead in the early hours.
As well as the street sign, a sign was also stolen from the top of a car in the same road.
Investigating officer PCSO Oliver Hogg based at Maidenhead police station, said: “I am releasing images of these two men as I believe they have important information relating to this incident.
“I would urge anyone who recognises either of the men in these images, or if you believe one of them is you, to please get in touch."
