A group of school children from Marlow launched a charity stall outside their home to raise money for Cancer Research.

Siblings Holly (10), Daisy, (eight), and Jasper White (five), along with their friends Elin and Alise Barr, created the stand on Sunday, September 13, where many items were put up for sale.

From toys, clothes, and books being available to purchase, the five school kids also prepared several games to raise funds which included ‘Guess the teddy’s name’, ‘how many sweets are in the jar’ as well as doing a silent auction.

Incredibly, the children raised £571.82 for the charity.

Joanna White, Holly, Daisy, and Jasper’s mum said: “I remember raising £1.83 for Ethiopia by running a fayre with my sister and a friend when I was eight-years-old.

“How much we raised featured in the local church newsletter.

“I remember feeling so proud and I still remember it now.

“This is why when my children mentioned the idea.

“I welcomed it and despite twice postponing due to poor weather and quarantining, I was determined that we would go ahead with it.

“Luckily, we did before rule six came into play.

“I believe it is never too early to encourage our children to learn about charity work, giving to others, and gratitude.”
