An inovative and Covid-safe 'drive-thru' helped the residents of Windsor's Castle View retirement village in Helston Lane raise £400 when they hosted a Macmillan coffee morning.

Village manager Lisa Fisher said: "“Despite the difficult times we live in currently, we welcomed a good number of people to join us for coffee, cake and company.

"Our socially safe ‘drive-thru’ option proved to be a fun and innovative addition to the usual coffee morning formula.

“Our property owners and friends of Castle View hosted the event, and were kept busy serving cakes they had baked, while socially distanced measures were in place throughout."

Castle View is an award winning retirement village for the over 55s.

The village is also holding safe Open Days every Saturday throughout October between 10am and 4pm, while complimentary 'Have a break on us' staycations are available until Christmas.
