A warrior lord from the legendary television series Game of Thrones has joined the 'battle' to get Windsor's Theatre Royal back on track.

Iain Glen who played Ser Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones will be joining his wife Charlotte Emmerson, TV and stage favourite Liza Goddard and Soldier Soldier’s Ben Nealon in an adaptation of Agatha Christie's gripping psychological thriller Love From A Stranger to be performed there from Tuesday, October 20 to Saturday, October 24.

The theatre closed for seven months during and after lockdown.

Now it is preparing to stage its annual pantomine this November.

But firstly a team of star actors will be appearing in a series of plays presented on stage there with the cast 'socially distanced' at microphones as if they were recording the play for the radio.

Love From a Stranger is the second 'radio' play being performed.

The theatre reopens tonight with Judge Deed stars Martin Shaw and Jenny Seagrove, appearing together in Love Letters - a play from 1988 about a romantic friendship lasting half a century. It runs till Saturday.

The Christie thriller will be followed by The Lady in the Van by Alan Bennett from October 27 to October 31, Felicity Kendal and Tom Conti in Lloyd George Knew My Father from November 3 to 7 and Will Young in A Thousand Clowns from November 10 to 14.
