A seven-year-old boy was so inspired by the 'rainbow' logo used to represent front line NHS staff during lockdown that he passed the time by creating his own rainbow tree.

Now Nishan Brar's effort is dominating the entrance to his school.

Nisham lives in Bath Road, Cippenham with dad Guj, mum Manveer and four-year-old brother Sahib.

Guj said: "It all started when school was locked down. I was furloughed at home and my wife was home too.

"It was the time when everyone was clapping NHS staff every week and Guj decided he wanted to use his time at home to do something.

"The rainbow logo became his inspiration. It started as a bit of fun but he decided he wanted to make a tree."

Guj found some medium density fibreboard wood in the garage that Nishan could paint on and bought tubs of paint for him to use.

The resulting canvas took Nishan four hours to do and ended up 1.2m wide and 1m high.

Nishan goes to Edison Primary School in Hounslow - he started there before the family moved to Cippenham.

The school took a picture of Nishan's tree and put it on a large canvas where it can now be seen in the entrance.
