NHS and emergency workers in Slough are being given free monthly passes to use E-scooters.

The initiative has been launched to coincide with the new national lockdown in England, to help support the town’s wider efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19.

It will see Neuron’s e-scooters positioned regularly by an operations team, so they can be better used by the town’s NHS and Emergency Services workers who cannot work from home.

Zachary Wang, CEO of Neuron Mobility which provides the E-scooters, said: “We want to show our sincere gratitude to Slough’s NHS and Emergency Services staff as they continue to travel to work every day to care for people, while many of us have the option to work from home.”

NHS and Emergency Services workers will be able to activate the free monthly pass easily through the latest version of Neuron’s user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Registration takes a matter of minutes.

*E-scooters are now familiar sights on the roads and bus lanes of Slough - which is one of 13 cities and towns taken part in trials approved by the Department of Transport.

The council is working with Neuron Mobility which is providing 250 distinctive orange e-scooters to rent as an alternative way to travel and 25 staff to co-ordinate the trial.
