A dream came true for one Dedworth based family business this week - as the family opened their own showroom in the heart of the community.

Brothers Vincent French, 40 and his brother Ricky, 36, have worked in the flooring trade since they left school - setting up their own business which became a company in 2016, operating a mobile service.

Like everybody they had to struggle to get through the Covid crisis.

But this week RDF Carpets and Flooring Ltd finally opened its own premises in Dedworth Road.

Ricky's wife Angela said: "We were at a loose end during lockdown, browsing online when we saw that the Hamilton Chess estate agent site had become available."

It puts them right in the centre of a community where they have been building a reputation for years.

Angela said: "One of the main reasons that drove them to open a showroom was to honour their late father Roger French, who was always so proud of them and their business.

"He always asked them when they would open a showroom. He sadly passed away in 2018, so this is a tribute to their father for giving them the determination to fulfil this dream."

The family tradition is already becoming established. Jack French, 22 - Vincent's son - is also working for the company.

Vincent's wife Caroline handles the accounts and Angela looks after the marketing.

Ricky and Angela live in Duncroft, Dedworth with their five children. Vincent and Caroline's two daughters live in Maidenhead.
