A HOUSE building and consultant firm has partnered up with Slough Borough Council to help build £100 million-worth of affordable homes over the next four years.
Helix Group – which is based in Newbury – has won a place as one of eight contractors to help deliver the council’s renewed housing strategy aim of at least 650 new homes by 2024.
Its construction framework will be used to award contracts for individual small-scale projects valued at up to £2.5 million, totalling £100 million.

Works will include building new homes on old garage sites, refurbishing existing homes, conversions, and extensions.
Despite challenging times created by coronavirus, the firm has doubled its workforce and has won a number of major housebuilding contracts since March.
Nic Davies, Managing Director of Helix Group, said: “We are thrilled to have won a place on Slough Borough Council’s construction framework and are eager to play our part in delivering much-needed affordable homes for the people of Slough.”
