SLOUGH’S MP Tan Dhesi commends everybody involved in the vaccination rollout in the borough as care home residents and staff all received their first coronavirus jab.

Speaking in Parliament, Mr Dhesi expressed his gratitude to all staff ensuring all Slough care home residents were vaccinated as well as thanking Health Secretary Matt Hancock and his team for setting up a mass vaccination centre at Salt Hill Activity Centre.

He said: “I’d like to commend everybody involved in the vaccine rollout program who ensured that all care home residents in Slough received their first dose.

“And I’d also like to thank the Health and Social Care Secretary and his team for agreeing to site one of the mass vaccination centres in my Slough constituency – which has been particularly hit by the pandemic.”

The Health Secretary – who spoke via Zoom due to self-isolation – responded: “He’s quite right about Slough, it’s had a tough time in this pandemic, but it will get both the vaccination centre – which is great.

“And it was a great pleasure in the week having a Zoom with the Slough NHS team, who have delivered this.

“Every single care home resident in Slough being vaccinated, getting their first jab. It’s an absolutely terrific performance by the team in Slough and I am glad that he’s [Tan Dhesi] as proud of them as I am.

“They are a model that all can look to.”

The Labour Parliamentarian asked Mr Hancock if detailed data on age, ethnicity, region, and level of deprivation will be published so local public health teams can identify any issues.

In response, Matt Hancock said that they will be publishing more detailed local data this afternoon and will publish more “granular” information as the vaccination programme continues to rollout.
