Six people have been arrested following an incident of hare coursing in West Berkshire, Thames Valley Police revealed.

Officers made the arrests after a group of males with lurcher dogs were reported to be acting suspiciously in Hungerford on Saturday, January 16.

The hare coursing incidents reportedly happened in Churchwood Wickham, Hungerford Hill and nearby at Shefford Woodlands, Lambourn, shortly before 3.30pm.

Five men from Cardiff aged 21, 24, 25, 27, and 46 were arrested on suspicion of day time trespass in pursuit of game poaching.

They have been released on police bail until February 7 while the investigation continues.

A 16-year-old boy, also from Cardiff, South Wales, was arrested on suspicion of the same offence and was released under investigation.
