“INSPIRATIONAL” Colin Pill, described as a “special man with a golden heart”, passed away on February 3 – aged 68.
Colin, of Montgomery Place, was the chairman of Slough health watch from 2013, working with hospitals, GP surgeries, and care homes to help resolve issues residents were experiencing.
He devoted many years to ensuring local people were able to shape how health and care services were delivered.
Colin was passionate about the wellbeing of people from all backgrounds, particularly young people and those with disabilities.

A friend of Colin’s, Dolly Bhaskaran, paid tribute to Mr Pill, describing him as a ‘special man with a golden heart’.
She said: “He always made time to listen to people’s concerns and issues. As he was disabled himself, accessibility for disabled people was very close to his heart. One of his last projects in Slough was completed last year, which highlighted the issues faced by the disabled community in our town.”
Councillor Natasa Pantelic, lead member for health and wellbeing, said at an outbreak engagement board meeting: “We all have, I am sure, very fond memories of Colin. He was one of our best local campaigners and he started his working life in the NHS.

“In recent years, he was a phenomenal representative for health watch in Slough and he always kept raising important issues for local people, always looking at how he can get better patient pathways for people through the care system.
“I certainly will very much miss his conversations with me.
“Rest in peace, Colin wherever you are.”
Councillors observed a minute’s silence during the meeting.
