A 46-year-old man has been arrested after a reported fight between two people in Maidenhead left a man needing hospital treatment.

At around 9pm on Sunday (February 21) a fight was reported between two men in Ray Mead Road.

Police said a man, aged in his 40s, suffered serious swelling and bruising to his body, as well as facial fractures.

His injuries reportedly required hospital treatment, but he has since been discharged.

A 46-year-old man from Maidenhead was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and has been released on police bail.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable William Holbrook, based at Maidenhead police station, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to this incident, or anyone who might have information about what happened, to please come forward.

“We believe that this was an isolated incident and that both men were known to each other.”
