Messages of praise has flooded in for teachers and staff from families across Slough thanking them for all of their support during the pandemic.

Teachers and educational staff have worked tirelessly to adapt and overcome the challenges and pressures of the pandemic whilst minimising the impact of lockdown on children's learning is one of their main priorities.

Last week we asked residents on the Slough Observer Facebook page if they had any schools or teachers they wanted to thank for their support during the pandemic.

We were inundated with messages for the wonderful work of school staff with people commenting that every staff member was worthy of praise for all they have managed to achieve in such difficult circumstances.

If you want to share a message about your child's school, then you can still give it a mention in the comments here, or under the story on the Slough Observer Facebook page.

Here's what parents have said about schools across Slough:

They are supporting families with child care during lockdown, for those who are key workers and for the parents/carers with vulnerable children. The School office call to check-in regularly, they run a food bank, they give food vouchers, virtual coffee catch up for parents. The School is organized with opening and pick up times to collection times/points of pick up with each year group.

"The office update you so quickly and explain everything clearly and in great detail.

"Staff/teachers are very supportive whilst working online, they work harder and faster to resolve problems. Parents are sent surveys to have their say. All staff and teachers that I have met are kind, friendly and understanding.

"I am proud that my daughter goes to this School and moving her here was the best decision I made! "My daughter also loves her School, teachers and the way that they teach the work and make it fun so that she understands. They give out laptops/tablets and any support needed to use them. At Christmas there was donations for those in need, for those less able to shop safely and to support those more in crisis. This was to support parents/carers to make sure that all children got at least one Christmas present in 2020. They took donations and gave gifts to those who are vulnerable."
