THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a distraction burglary in Slough.

Between 5.30pm and 6.05pm on Friday (April 30), the victims, a man and woman in their eighties, were at home at their property in Northampton Avenue when two men entered claiming they were there to look at their taps and water supply.

Whilst one of the men pretended to check the taps in the kitchen, the other went into rooms around the house and stole cash and jewellery items.

When the homeowner became aware of the second man’s presence and questioned what he was doing they left the scene.

The offenders are both described as white men in their forties. One had a slim build and was clean shaven with brown hair. The other man had a larger build. They were both wearing all black formal clothes.

Staff investigator Daniel Fallis, based at Slough police station said: “I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or anyone who saw the men matching the descriptions provided in the area at the time, to please get in touch.

Police said people should remember to ask to see ID if people are visiting your property claiming they are there for any form of maintenance works.
