CULT classics and blockbuster movies will be shown on the big screens this summer in Berkshire.

A number of open-air cinema events are planned this year, where film lovers can watch their favourite movies in the fresh air.

It's a unique experience to try and a perfect date idea if you want something to look forward to as lockdown restrictions ease.

So we've rounded up some of the best open-air cinema events happening in Berkshire this year.

Ascot Racecourse

The Luna Cinema 'under the stars' organisers have chosen to host their event at the racecourse this year.

Rocketman, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, and Greatest Showman are the top films that will be showing locally.

The screenings in Ascot will be from July 15 through to July 18, and tickets go on sale today (May 7).

Windsor Royal Racecourse

Cinema company Strawberry Moon is hosting a number of Covid-19 secure film screenings at Royal Windsor Racecourse from April 15.

The company is the only one in the UK permitted to show brand new releases and films including Godzilla vs Kong, Wonder Woman 1984 and Tom and Jerry.

Reading's Madejski stadium

Godzilla, Kinky Boots, and Hairspray are just some of the fantastic offerings being shown at the new 'drive in, sit out' cinema at Madejski Stadium.

Organisers Flix have announced the six-day event is expected to run from June 1 to June 6.

Bracknell Rugby Football Club

Fans of The Greatest Showman will be able to pitch up a picnic blanket and enjoy the film under the stars at this Bracknell event.

The film hosted by Open Air Film & Chill starts at 7pm on Friday, June 4.
