A TOTAL of 31 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours in Berkshire.

Public Health England has recorded 31 new lab-confirmed cases in the past 24 hours, in areas including Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, West Berkshire, Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead.

These figures are correct as of Saturday, May 15, at 4pm.

The local breakdown for the past 24 hours as follows:

Reading - 5 cases, 11,009 total

Bracknell Forest - 2 cases, 7,130 total

Wokingham - 1 case, 8,299 total

West Berkshire - 10 cases, 6,473 total

Slough - 11 cases, 15,638 total

Windsor and Maidenhead - 2 cases, 8,565 total

There have now been 4,448,851 people across the UK who have tested positive for the virus.

The latest seven-day rate per 100,000 people locally are as follows:

Reading - 21.6

Bracknell Forest - 18.8

Wokingham - 16.4

In today's national Covid news:

NHS England data shows a total of 5,854,171 jabs were given to people in London between December 8 and May 14, including 3,866,531 first doses and 1,987,640 second doses.

This compares with 5,758,740 first doses and 3,181,882 second doses given to people in the Midlands, a total of 8,940,622.

– East of England: 3,638,276 first doses and 1,977,711 second doses, making 5,615,987 in total
