A care home company is hoping to expand its business across Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

Universal Care, which specialises in in-home care, will branch out to across the counties after securing major investment from the independent operator, Nobilis, which is one of the South East’s leading in-home care providers

Nobilis, which is based in Southampton, Hampshire, now intends to build on Universal Care’s existing office team and 100-plus field-based carers to further expand operations across Beaconsfield, Amersham, Aylesbury, and Marlow in Buckinghamshire, as well as Maidenhead and Windsor in Berkshire.

Nobilis’ CEO Peter Harrington said: “Universal Care is a fantastic business with knowledge of, and experience in, specialist and live-in care.

“While we embed their business into the Nobilis group, we’re looking forward to including these care packages across our business based on their experience and care plans.”

The team will be able to take advantage of the Nobilis new apprenticeship training partnership, which will include Levels 2 3, 4, and 5 Standards in Adult Care.

These qualifications are accredited by City & Guilds and are recognised by the Care Quality Commission and health and social care sector.

Nobilis will also bring Universal Care operations into its IT and customer service infrastructure.

Universal Care’s Chairman, Peter Cullimore, added: “I am really pleased to be handing over the reins of Universal Care to Nobilis.

"Having met their senior team, I know their philosophy is very similar to ours, and that continuity of care is a priority for us all.

“As a family-run business, run on family values, Nobilis place the clients and the carer at the centre of everything they do and their technology and training programmes will allow the team to do what they do best - caring for our clients.”
